Israel On A War Footing With Gaza And Wants To Scupper Peace Talks

E-mail Print PDF

AshkenaziIsrael, November 10, 2009, (Pal Telegraph) - We again see two scenarios's playing out here: one of pure aggression against Gaza and the other like a spoilt child who has just been told off for committing and offense only this time we are talking about war crimes.

Israeli Army Chief Gabi Ashkenazi made a very strong threat to Gaza when he said "The army will come back to face the rocket launching stages in the overcrowded areas and fight in cities, villages, mosques, hospitals, preschools and schools, because the enemy wants to impose this fighting mode on Israel."

Hamas response: "The Israeli claims express the depth of the crisis Israel is suffering because of the international affirmation for the Goldstone Report." "This statement is a step to cover the crimes which the occupation is planning for, against civilians in the strip."

As I have reported previously I believe that the Israeli camp is being let off lightly by the Goldstone Report in that it covers various types of singular actions as opposed to what could only be described as mass disproportionate actions bordering on genocide. One could even see a possible conspiracy type decoy here in that the end result could bring individual IDF military personnel to trial as opposed the netting the bigger fish such as the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Chief of the IDF and key Commanders etc.

The real issue here is that Goldstone missed out on taking with him a proper team with proper equipment to cover a broad range of violations. A greater emphasis should have been placed on the fact that the UN chosen team did not consist of teams to investigate, isolate and test any reported suspect uranium contaminated sites. The uranium issued was swept under the carpet.

The other issue raised in submissions was that of White Phosphorus, DIME and Flechette....again there was reference too these illegal weapons with the same end result of also being swept under the carpet. One can clearly see that this team went in like Sherlock Homes with a small spyglass wearing extremely dark sunglasses so as not to have clear vision. This same approach occurred in the Balkans, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and now Gaza....basically if you don't look you don't find.

It is standard practice now for the UN to avoid at all costs any reference to uranium contamination and yet they have clear UN staff instructions for dealing with such matters. How do they get away with endangering their own staff and then have the audacity to carry out reconstruction work, collecting the rubble, crushing it and then laying it down throughout the strip to resurface the roads? The current project will last for one year and will cause massive secondary contamination aerosols that will drift on the wind in the region and also cross border into Central and Southern Israel and adjacent countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and further afield to Saudi and UAE etc. These aerosols are totally indiscriminate and respect no borders. So we will now see this false charade play out before our very eyes and only see the little fish become sacrificial lambs. I urge the public to see through this masquerade and demand that these major breaches of the Geneva Convention are covered.

There is a distinct possibility that Israel will now focus on small violations occurring in the Gaza Strip to give them justification to go in for the second time. We already know that Netanyahu has declared that he will not leave the strip next time until Hamas is removed from office. To add fuel to the fire this is Israel flexing its muscle ahead of the Palestinian Presidential Election.

What is also a real possibility is that Hamas may also win West Bank and that will hurt the US and Israeli lobby very much indeed. You know that when there is a fair election (which there hasn't been in Palestine for some time) the US will call this democracy at work.......if however the winning party happens to be Hamas then that concept goes out the door! We the international community must insist that Israel does not attack Gaza and make the previous world protest rallies appear small compared to any new ones. I would also urge you all to dig out your old shoes ready to express your true thoughts in typical Arabic style!

The media reports that "Israel Threatens It Will Scuttle Peace Talks If Goldstone Report Goes To United Nations Human Rights Council.". So whets new? Peace talks have been going on for decades! The thought crossed my mind that how nice it would be to add to the existing charges the hundreds of UN Resolutions that Israel has ignored and the hundreds of human rights violations that occur on a weekly basis as reported by the Permanent Mission to Palestine in the UN.

Israels_Berlin_WallToday was a very special day in Germany to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was so interesting to see Obama, Brown, Sarkosy and Merkel the so called G3.5 who so aggressively threatened Iran. This same group stood by Israel in its attack on the people of Gaza. Today we see them condemn the wall that once separated East Germany from the West. It was sickening to listen to their respective speeches and for me to reflect on the wall being constructed in Palestine. Why do we see such a patriotic turn out to celebrate this event and yet total silence from this same group of world leaders in relations to Israel's Berlin Wall. The wall is a symbol of arrogant aggression erected by a government that shows no respect for international law and is totally void of compassion.
