Israel opens Abu Salem crossing, enters cement for Al-Qudes Hospital

crossingGaza, May 30, 2010 (Pal Telegraph) - The Israeli authorities opened today Karem Abu Salem crossing to allow the entry of limited quantities of fuel and aid into the Gaza Strip, but kept Al-Montar crossing closed.

“The occupation authorities will open Abu Salem crossing to allow the entry of 100-110 vans loaded with aid and goods for industrial and agriculture sectors.” Raed Fatouh, Palestinian crossings official, told SAFA news agency.

The official added that a van loaded with cement will be entered today for rebuilding Al-Qudes Hospital, which was targeted by Israel in Gaza war, and another one loaded with equipment for the power station in Gaza.

He added that they will pump limited quantities of cooking gas and fuel needed to run the power station in Gaza.

The Israeli authorities allowed Thursday the entry of 89 vans loaded with aid and goods, three of them were loaded with cement for the UNRWA, besides, they pumped 134 ton of cooking gas and pumped 218000 liter of industrial solar.

However, the Israeli authorities decided to keep Al-Montar crossing closed for today.
