Gaza, January 6, 2010 (Pal Telegraph) - A group of eight Palestinian artists living in Syria are in Gaza Strip Wednesday, having come through Rafah Crossing, to express solidarity with Gaza's people who are suffering under Israeli siege.
Hamdi Sha't , head of the deposed Palestinian government's committee of breaking the siege and receiving delegations said that the delegation will, during the two-day visit, sense the volume of the destruction in Gaza caused by the Israeli offensive and the suffering of the Palestinian people due to the Israeli closure.
The delegation will meet Hamas- led government's Prime Minister Ismail Haniya and ministers, in addition to Palestinian artists in the Gaza Strip.
The delegation includes the director Basel Al-Khateeb who expressed his happiness to visit Gaza.
A group of Syrian artists had visited Gaza late November, 2009 and met with officials in the government and families of Palestinians who were killed and injured in the Israeli offensive. The popular Syrian artist Douraid Laham was one of them.
