Jewish Settlers to Build Road on Palestinians’ Lands

West Bank, March 30, 2009 (Pal Telegraph) - Jewish settlers are preparing to build an unauthorized road between “Alia” settlement in the north of the West Bank City of Ramallah and “Hioval” settlement in the south on Palestinian land, according to the Israeli daily-newspaper Haaretz.

The newspaper said that Abdul Latif Al Boom, head of the village council, sent an appeal to the High Court of Justice.

In recent years, the number of settlers and settlements in the West Bank rose rapidly Israel’s colonization and land grabbing is a flagrant attempt to expand the Jewish presence in the occupied West Bank.

In light of findings revealed by the Palestinian Center Bureau of Statistics, the Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank since 1967 has increased the number of Israeli settlers reaching more than one and a half million; most of them residents of occupied Jerusalem.

In numbers, the total population of the Israeli settlers in occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank jumped to be 541.441 settlers; about 246.843 of them are based in Jerusalem, with aproximately 191.575 settlers around Jerusalem.
