H1N1 Kills 2 in Gaza

r3628694470Gaza, December 7, 2009 (Pal Telegraph) - Hassan Khalaf, deputy of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, confirmed that two swine flu cases died today morning. He pointed out they were suffering from underlying health problems such as pneumonia, kidney failure and they have not immunity.

Dr. Asad Al-Ramlawi, the spokesman for the campaign against swine flu, declared that the two cases were in the intensive care room, but they did not respond to the medicine. So, after these two cases the number of the swine flu deaths in Palestine reached 11 cases, according to him.

Al-Dameer, human rights group, released that it observed anxiously the statement of the Ministry of Health of Gaza, yesterday, which declared its discovery of 5 swine flu cases in Gaza.
Al-Dameer called the international community institutes and World Health Organization for effective and quick measures to guarantee stoppage of the disease spreading out in the Strip where 1.5 million live. It urged WHO office in Gaza to cooperate with Ministry of Health to provide the needed medication which help patients recover from the disease.


The group called the government for emergency plan to restrict the disease spreading out among the Palestinian people in Gaza and to take the precautions which would prevent university and school students from getting infected.
