Gaza Strip, December 8, 2009, (Pal Telegraph) --The German mediator, negotiating prisoners exchange between Israel and Hamas, arrived in Gaza to meet with Hamas leaders to deliver Israel's response to them.
Hamas has earlier demanded the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the captured Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit.
An informed Palestinian official said negotaitions have reached a "critical stage." The next few hours are very important to determine whether the deal will be struck or not.
Quoting "reliable Palestinian sources", al-Jazeera said that if the Israeli response to the Hamas demands was "not convincing", then "the talks over completing the deal would be resumed again with more delicate details in order to finalize it."
In case Israel declined Hamas conditions, the deal would likely be unachievable.
