Gaza, April 12, (Pal telegraph) Dr. Yasser Wadi `a, the representative of independent personalities confirmed last night, the transfer of 3 million dollars from the electricity distribution company in the Gaza Strip to the treasury of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, saying that it was agreed to transfer the money that is collected from the citizens and send it to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.

Wadi`a revealed that a gathering of all national and Islamic forces and independent personalities, in addition to the President and members of the Board of Directors of the electricity distribution company along side with representatives from the private sector and civil society organizations, to discuss all the ways that will bring life to normal and re-supply fuel for the plant to avoid crises affecting the health and education sectors.

On the other hand Jamal Aldardasawi, director of public relations in the electricity distribution company, confirmed the resumption of the fuel entry to run the only power plant in the Gaza Strip.

Three trucks were let in yesterday, through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, carrying amount of 220 thousand liters of fuel that runs the power plant.

Aldradasawi said that the quantity will be allowed to enter over the up-coming five days, bringing what is usually entered in one week which is a million and one hundred thousand liters, from quantitative surveys let in by the occupation forces of up to two million and two hundred thousand liters per week.

Stressing that this amount would be enough to run one electric generator out of four generators run by the plant.

Aldardasawi considered that this step is not enough to take us out of the crisis suffered by Gaza’s residents, but a right step in the right direction as amended by the distribution company to the governorates of Gaza Strip, in which darkness prevails.

He pointed out that the number of hours of the electric supply to the population will be up to eight hours a day instead of 6 hours for a 12-hour interruption.
