Gaza Strip, (Pal Telegraph)- Rafah border crossing-the only entrance to Gaza-will be closed Saturday by the Egyptian authorities because of celebrations and will be opened on Sunday, according to Ayyub Abu Shaar, the director of Rafah crossing.

He pointed out that Palestinians scheduled to travel to Egypt Saturday haven’t been able to move through the crossing . 

Egyptian authorities have opened Rafah crossing on a permanent basis except Friday and official holidays, allowing  nearly 500 passengers a day to leave Gaza Strip into Egyptian territories. 

Rafah crossing is witnessing unprecedented crowd due to the large number of Palestinians wishing to cross in and out of Gaza Strip.
