Ramallah, December 5, 2009 (Pal Telegraph) - President Mahmoud Abbas received a telephone call, yesterday, from U.S. peace process envoy, George Mitchell, in which they discussed the renewal of the stalled peace process because of Israeli stubbornness.
It has been scheduled that the President Mahmoud Abbas will start an Arab tour to support the Palestinian efforts toward establishing a Palestinian state unilaterally. The tour will include Lebanon, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt.
This tour comes as part of the diplomatic efforts to urge the UN Security Council to demarcate the borders of a Palestinian state on the line of June 1967 and its capital East Jerusalem, also to try to keep the option of the two states.
Dr. Saeb Erekat, Cheif Palestinian Negotiation sad in press statments that the members of the Quartet, led by the United States, should declare to the international community, by the obligation placed on them in the road map, that the Israeli government is the party who refused to implement its obligations of the road map, rather than trying to show the Israeli government as if it committed to freeze it.
He also added, "While it insists on continuing settlement construction, it is known that the settlement constriction continues in more than 3000 housing units for settlers in the West Bank and more than them in East Jerusalem,"
