West Bank, February 8, 2010 (Pal Telegraph) - The Ministry of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs said that the Israeli authorities freed the detainee Nezam Mohammed Hamattu Shaninah from Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip, and then they deported him to the West Bank rather than returning to his home in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that, according to the detainee's brother, Shaninah was detained on 4th October, 2006 from the West Bank, where he was working there for a long time.
The occupation courts sentenced him to three years and a half as he spent them fully inside the Israeli jails. After he was released, yesterday, he was deported to the West Bank away from Gaza where he and his family lives.
The ministry considered this action by the Israeli occupation as a continuation of the exclusion policy of Palestinian prisoners, which contrast with the international conventions which do not permit deportation of any citizen, either internally or externally only in special cases.
It emphasized that the occupation authorities must provide him with all life requirements such as housing, food, drink and monthly salary.
The ministry appealed to international organizations, human rights and humanitarian to put an end to the deportation policy by Israel which contrasts with international law.
Meanwhile, the occupation authorities deported Thursday the detainee Baker Al-Hafi a resident of Tulkarm city to the Gaza Strip after being detained for a month, claiming that he is a resident of the Gaza Strip, but he has been living in Tulkarm city for ten years. He works there as he is married and has a house.
Other nine detainees are awaiting deportation decisions to outside Palestine.
