journalistsHebron, March 13, 2010 (Pal Telegraph) - Israeli occupation forces detained on Saturday three journalists and beat another three while suppressing a protest against the apartheid wall in Bait Omar town, north of Hebron in the West Bank.

Palestinian sources said that Israeli soldiers detained journalists Abdul Hafeez Al-Hashlamon, Nasser Shyoukhi and Fadi Hamad, and severely beat journalists Youssef Shahine, Hazem Bader and Yousri Al-Jamal, while they were covering a march against the apartheid wall.

Later, occupation authorities released Al-Hashlamon and Shyoukhi, while transferreing Hamad to an investigation center. Shaheen was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Violent clashes erupted between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers after the soldiers suppressed the march, which was organized by the Palestine Solidarity Project and the Popular Committee Against the Wall, the sources added. They said the Israeli soldiers used excessive force to disperse the protesters, firing rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas at them.
