West Bank, March 17, 2010 (Pal Telegraph)- Extremist settlers attacked on Wednesday a number of residents of Deir Al-Hatab village east of Nablus, in the northern West Bank.
Ghassan Douglas, an official in the Nablus office of the Palestinian Authority, said: "A number of villagers went to a spring - the village's major source of water - and a group of settlers attacked them and denied them access to the spring."
Local sources added that the settlers prevented farmers from plowing their land, which led to clashes between both sides and minor injuries among villagers.
Settlers from the Elon Moreh settlement, adjacent to the village of Deir Al-Hatab, have been trying to seize the spring that supplies water to the village, but residents have resisted.
