Jerusalem, March 27, (Pal Telegraph) A press conference was held today including a number of Palestinian Christian characters at the headquarters of the Palestinian media center which aimed to advertise the position of Palestinian Christians rejecting the Israeli action in the city of Jerusalem to mark the Feast of Resurrection, and especially on Holy Saturday, as the Israeli authorities will take measures claiming they are security wise, and will lead to the Prevention of Palestinian Christians as well as pilgrims coming from all over the world access to the courtyard of Al-Qeyamah Church on Holy Saturday.
The speakers called for the Palestinian Christians to go to Jerusalem at the Feast of Resurrection to reaffirm their spiritual and national commitment and attachment to this holy city.
They also emphasized that the principle of getting permits to participate in the Feast of the Resurrection, is totally rejected. They confirmed that Palestinians don’t need permits to access the city and, whether Muslim or Christian should be able to access freely to the city of Jerusalem, and the Israeli actions regarding this matter is totally rejected too.
Security is not meant to prevent people from accessing the churches and mosques, therefore, there is prejudice against Christians who were denied access to Al-Qeyamah Church, as is the case with Muslims who were denied access to Al Aqsa Mosque.
They also expressed their rejection of the occupation measures and their adherence to the Arab identity of Jerusalem and the rejection of the security "lame" excuses by the Israeli authorities to prevent people from accessing their city and their holy places.
