nilin_copyBethlehem, March 28, 2010 (Pal Telegraph) - Today, twelve protesters were detained by Israeli occupation forces at a demonstration of about 100 Palestinian and Israeli left-wing activists near Bethlehem. The demonstration was stopped by the Israeli forces while the rest of the demonstrators were forcibly removed from the checkpoint area.

Some 100 activists left the Beit Jala area for a joint march ahead of the holidays of Passover and Easter in a call for religious cooperation.

The demonstrators arrived at the Bethlehem checkpoint in buses from the Palestinian side, disembarking and starting a march on foot.

The Israeli occupation forces claimed that the demonstration was illegal and was therefore stopped, and participants detained.
