Nablus, March 29, (Pal Telegraph) The Prisoners’ families Committee announced on Monday going on a strike refusing to visit all Israeli prisons starting from the first of next month. The committee’s branch in the governorates of the West Bank, asked all of the prisoners and detainees and their families to stick to the escalating commitment steps that have been approved in cooperation with the Palestinian Prisoner Society and the Ministry of Prisoners Affairs.
The strike represents not visiting any prisoners in Israeli jails for a period of one month only from 1/4/2010 until 1/5/2010 (all prisons), in protest over Israeli policies and the persistence of the occupation’s oppressing practices against the people during their passage through the crossings and checkpoints, and also depriving many families from visiting their children and specifically the people of the Gaza Strip.
The committee considered this decision as a “ national duty” and asked every one to stick by it.
