Jerusalem, March 31, (Pal Telegraph) Official Israeli political source revealed that the American administration had asked Israel to freeze settlement building for four months in East Jerusalem, in exchange of pressuring President Mahmoud Abbas to accept direct negotiations with Israel. "Ha'aretz" reported today that the U.S. administration is trying to push the peace process in the region, and to persuade Arab countries about the urgent need to open direct negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, and support President Mahmoud Abbas in the negotiations, especially as a group of Arab countries have already announced their support to the president "Abu Mazen" in his demands to comprehensively freeze building settlements, including Jerusalem, and before entering into direct negotiations with Israel.
It’s said that the US. Administration are pressuring Israel into freezing settlements buildings and accepting to head for the negotiations table with the Palestinians to push the peace process and get it moving.
