Ni'ilin, November 2, (Pal Telegraph - Joseph Dana) A larger than usual group of Ni’ilin residents, accompanied by Israeli and international supporters marched towards the concrete wall built on the village’s lands this week after the Friday midday prayer.
Soon after the march had reached the wall, soldiers positioned behind the wall began shooting tear-gas on the demonstrators, which proved utterly inefficient, as the wind was blowing the gas away from the demonstrators and back towards the soldiers, who earned themselves a taste of their own medicine.
A group of the protesters then continued to west, towards the area where the 29 feet concrete wall ends and where a set of razor wire barricades and an electronic touch-sensitive fence continues. Using bolt-croppers and wire cutters demonstrators managed to cut through the electronic fence, which separates the village from much of its lands.
Protesters were then forced to retreat, after soldiers crossed the huge metal gate in the wall, chasing after the demonstrators. No arrests or injuries were recorded.
