Silwan residents hurt by Israeli army

West Bank, (Pal Telegraph)- Forces from the Israeli army minority unit raided yesterday al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, a town east of Jerusalem, and started firing gas bombs and rubber bullets at civilians' houses, according to Silwan defense committee.

Several Palestinians were treated due to the effect of tear gas inhalation, and part of a Palestinian house was burnt by Israeli fire, the committee added.

The committee stated that another Israeli force lunched live bullets as they trying to arrest Palestinian teens and youths who were accused of throwing stones at Israeli soldiers, creating a state of panic among citizens including elderly people, women, and children.

During the clashes, Israeli forces hurt four Palestinians and detained two. The two detainees were sent to al-Maskobia center in the west of Jerusalem for interrogation.

Silwan town is witnessing frequent assaults by Israeli military forces aiming at displacing Palestinians from east Jerusalem and to pave the way for Israelis.
