Gaza, February 3, 2010 (Pal Telegraph) - Despite the ongoing trauma caused by the Israeli blockade, children at the Al-Qattan Centre still get a little respite by playing, reading and singing. The Palestine Telegraph met those children and prepared this report.
Lana, her 8-year-old sister and her 10-year-old cousin Miral went to the center after their school exams to read stories.
Al-Qatan Centre for the Child is the only center that focuses on children in Palestine to improve their skills and brighten their lives. There is a big library where they can read and do research.
Mostafa Hasan, 15 years, has been a member of the library for three years. He helps others find the books they need.
Amera, 13 years, practices the dabka, the traditional Palestinian dance. She and her friends are training to perform a dance for Mothers' Day, when the center will host a party for all of the children who attend.
Any child in Gaza can participate in activities at the center, including games and theater.
