London, (Pal Telegraph) - Palestinian Return Centre and UCLU Friends of Palestine are extremely pleased to announce one of the biggest speaker events for the year and are honoured to welcome Dr Mads Gilbert again on Thursday the 19th, 6 PM, Archaeology LT.
The event is part of the 3rd memorial week organized by the Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) which is being held nationwide.
Dr Mads Gilbert is a Norwegian doctor and politician who was working as a surgeon in Gaza Shifa Hospital during the 2008-09 massacre and witnessed the atrocities against Gaza's civilians. He has published a book about his experience there, "Eyes on Gaza". He will be speaking to us on the use and misuse of medicine and health in Palestine, as a solidarity tool and as an oppressive tool, and about the systematic brutality during Operation Cast Lead which he witnessed first-hand.
Archaeology Lecture Theatre is in the Archaeology Building, on Gordon Square. If you are coming from Euston Road, walk down Gordon Street (where the Bloomsbury Theatre is), the Archaeology Building is the first building on your left as Gordon Street turns into Gordon Square.
“We are grateful to the Palestinian Return Centre who are bringing Dr Mads Gilbert to the country and who are supporting this event.” Says Palestine Society at UCL
A second event is scheduled at the Imperial College. The event is held in partnership with Imperial College Palestinian Society. The event will start at 6:30pm, Friday 20th January 2012, G34 Lecture Theatre 2. Sir Alexander Fleming Building.
Both events are open for public
