Gaza, April 28, (Pal telegraph) Two days ago, the unofficial song for the Lib Dems left Peter Cook’s basement on its way to becoming a Number One hit. The song Democracy was conceived by Peter out of his personal rage against two party ‘pendulum’ politics. The song has already started downloading in large volumes, assisted by the Facebook movement who got Rage Against the Machine to Number 1 at Christmas, knocking Simon Cowell off the top slot. Democracy has already proved more popular than the Lib Dems official song, which, gained the feedback “places gun in mouth, blows brains out” from one of their supporters …
The song was produced, not by X-factor wannabe celebs, but by the Y-factor – people who are asking why we keep politicians in second homes, duck houses and bathplugs. A lifelong Labour voter, Peter wrote the song after the Lib Dems were the only party to assist him in overturning a trivial decision about parking by the local council, so he decided to give something back. Peter is a management consultant, author and musician. His latest book Sex, Leadership and Rock’n’Roll contends that you can learn just as much about business and life from a rock song as from a text book. He decided to apply the lessons to the Lib Dems after his frustration with Labour reached boiling point.
Democracy was produced by a motley crew of young people, who are fed up seeing politicians acting more like their shoe size than their age. Although the song came from the basement, it promises to rock the ballot box as Nick Clegg rides the rocky road to restoration, revolution and recovery.
